What this case is about

If you've purchased a specified Lenovo laptop that has a defective display, you may now get compensated due to a recent consumer class-action litigation that recently settled. The lawsuit alleges that Lenovo, in selling and marketing the laptops, misled consumers regarding the display defect. Moreover, the plaintiffs allege that had consumers known about the defect, they would have made different purchasing decisions. Lenovo denies it did anything wrong and claims that the class members are not entitled to any damages. Nevertheless, the parties have agreed to a settlement and laptop owners should not miss out on compensation. 

Lenovo has agreed to provide either a one-time free repair of the class laptops or a one-time payment of $100 to compensate class members. Claimants must  submit a timely claim, provide proof of purchase or provide a class laptop serial number, and state that the laptop is experiencing the display defect.

 – Lenovo Flex 5 laptop computer machine type 81CA purchased in the United States from August 14, 2017 to April 10, 2023, excluding any laptop computers that were manufactured after June 19, 2019

 – Lenovo Flex 5 laptop computer machine types 80XB, 80XA, or 81C9, purchased in the United States from March 9, 2017 to April 10, 2023.
