Another Chance for Google AdWords Advertisers
If your business used Google AdWords between 2004 and 2012, you may still be eligible for a share of the $100 million Google AdWords Settlement – even if you missed the filing deadline.
While original claim filing deadline was extended from July 2025 to October 31, 2025, we recently learned late claims may still being accepted through November. That means advertisers could have one final opportunity to try to recover funds from paying too much on invalid ad clicks.
What the Case is About
The Google AdWords class action lawsuit accused Google of charging advertisers for clicks that didn’t come from the intended geographic locations or audiences. Though Google denied wrongdoings, they agreed to a $100 million settlement to resolve the claims.
Eligible advertisers fall into one of two categories:
If your campaigns were impacted, you could potentially qualify for a payment based on the amount you overpaid in ineligible ad activity.
Why This Matters Now
Most advertisers assume the deadline passed (original deadline was in July 2025) and the quiet extension to October 31, 2025 offered a limited window. We learned claims filed in November may still be reviewed by the administrator (though they would be late claims with no guarantees), giving eligible businesses one last opportunity to recover their share of the $100 million fund.
Meaning – it may be worth it to file a late claim. There are no guarantees it will be approved, but you have nothing to lose.
