It feels like just yesterday (ahem, last summer) when we were sharing how you can get your ducks in a row to prepare for the Discover Card Merchant Settlement. Now, the claim deadline is almost here – May 18, 2026 – and if you haven’t filed yet, your window to recover funds is closing fast.
What is the Discover Merchant Settlement?
This class action lawsuit alleges Discover misclassified certain Discover-issued consumer credit cards as commercial credit cards, causing merchants and others to incur excessive interchange fees. If you accepted those Discover cards during the relevant period, you may be entitled to a share of the fund.
And the deadline to file a claim is May 18, 2026.
Still Thinking of Filing?
If you haven’t filed a claim yet, there’s still time – but preparation now will make the process much easier.
1. Gather your processing records
Pull statements and reports showing Discover transaction volume from January 2007 – December 2023. These may include processor reports, merchant statements, accounting exports, etc.
2. Confirm all eligible business entities
Many companies operate under multiple names, DBAs, or tax IDs. Missing one could mean leaving money on the table.
3. Decide how you want to file a claim
Filing can be time-consuming and documentation-heavy. We handle the entire filing process on your behalf – from data collection to submission – so you don’t have to dedicate internal resources.
If You Filed for Visa/Mastercard, This May be For You
Merchants who filed for the Visa/Mastercard class action settlement are especially well-positioned for Discover. If you've already gone through the process once - or had us do it for you - chances are we can help you again with minimal lift.
Don't miss your opportunity to recover funds your business may be owed. If you want a hands-off approach, we can manage your claim from start to finish.
Start your claim today or get in touch today to see how much you may be eligible to recover.
