After 18 months of waiting for objections and appeals to be resolved, Facebook users in Illinois are finally receiving their payments from the $650M Facebook Biometric Settlement. People are getting $397 in the form of a check, or electronic transfer such as Zelle or PayPal, but many are left wondering where is my money? Please note if you moved homes or no longer have a certain bank account then you will need to reach out to the administrator at admin@facebookbipaclassaction.com. They have asked that folks wait until mid-June to contact them and given our experience sending out checks, we know it can take time.

For people who had CCC file a claim on your behalf, we are working to get payments out asap although not everyone qualified for the settlement and we will inform folks if that is the case. We are excited to see a BIPA class action pay after many years of litigation and hard work by plaintiffs’ counsel led by Jay Edelson. With many other BIPA cases in the pipeline, we expect a few others to settle soon, and for attorneys to look at this settlement for guidance. We are also happy to help class members from the Facebook Biometric Settlement participate in other biometric cases like the Google BIPA Settlement coming soon, so please reach out to Omar at oreyes@chicagoclearing.com.
